Hot-dip galvanizing is a process of coating steel with a thin layer of zinc, therefore making the steel resistant to corrosion. Galvanized steel is widely used in applications where rust resistance is needed, and can be identified by the crystallization patterning on the surface (also referred to as ˇ°spangleˇ±). Typical applications are roofs, framing, steel furniture, refrigerators, automotive parts, grain bins, siding, etc.
